Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop

This month our theme was to be inspired by Project Life which I found quite a challenge, I have used the Project Life Stamp Set " This Is Your Life" as well as the Project Life Clips Thinlits on my card. I have been wanting to try this technique for a while, I would like to thank Dawn Olchefske for her tutorial on the Tree Reflection Technique. I am sure it won't be the last one I do, I love this technique and I do love doing sponging. It is wonderful how all the Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that do utube tutorials are showing how to use all these fabulous products.

Global Design Project #GDP008 Case The Designer Challenge

This time with this challenge "Case The Designer" I decided to take the colors Kylie has used on her card and make my entry completely my own just by using the colors she has used. It's amazing how different something can turn out by doing it this way. I had never thought to do it like this as for some reason I thought it needed to be similar to what the designer had created. These challenges are great when you learn something new, I decided to use the stamp set " World of Dreams" and using Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry stamped my image then cut it in 1 inch strips and back it onto a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock. I have also used some thick Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, also using my Triple Banner Punch to make the greeting stand out using Tip Top Taupe and Crushed Curry Cardstock.

Visit The Designers over at Global Design Project and why not enter in this great challenge, "Case The Designer". You just never know how your creation will turn out. Let the Design Team inspire you with their creations.

Global Design Project #GDP007 Theme Challenge

I decided to try a different technique this time, so using my hand made templates for the hills and valleys I sponged in at different levels and stamped the trees so they give you the look they are behind the hills and valleys. I then stamped my sheep, applied a generous amount of Crystal Effects and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on top and left to try. I then fussy cut out the sheep and applied them to the card with dimensionals. This is one technique I will definitely try again, I love how it turned out and gives you like a 3D effect of the farm theme in the paddocks at the farm.

Please check out the designers over at Global Design Project

Crazy Crafters October Blog Hop

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for October. This month we are excited to show off some amazing fun folds. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects shown in the blog hop, I'm sure all our designers would appreciate a visit from you. You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Angela Westland or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup in the list below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Angela Westland.

I decided to try to do a Bendi Fold Card with matching box to present it in as it is my Mother In Law's 87th Birthday this month and wanted to do something special for her. I have been looking at these Bendi fold cards for awhile and wasn't game to try one, now I have done one I can't wait to try another in a different theme. They are great as you are setting a scene, it's like a 3D picture, this is the part I found most challenging, to create the fold is very easy. I have put the tutorial by Bibiana under the "More Than 1 Fold" tab at the top of this page for you to see the base of creating this card, then all you have to do is decorate it as desired. This is the BOX TUTORIAL I designed for my cards many years ago, I hope you find it helpful, if you follow the instructions it helps you to design any size gift box you need. Also, here is the Gift Bow Bigz L Die tutorial that I have decorated on top of my box. Also, a big thank you to Paula Knall on her tutorial how to make the curtains for the windows using your Deco Labels Framelits.

I am just loving doing these challenges each week over at the  Global Design Project Challenges! Take the time to check out all the fabulous inspiration and ideas the Design Team have done with all the wonderful cards and projects they have made this week.

 Global Design Sketch Challenge

This is my interpetation of the Sketch Challenge!!

My Card-Closed
Double Trifold Card with a Twist

Double Trifold Card Front Opens to reveal a secret pocket for that special surprise or personal note.

I came across this Double Trifold Card on a utube tutorial but felt the card was too small so I have layered the actual card onto a 6x6 inch Early Espresso Cardstock embossed with the lovely new embossing folder "Fluttering", then have made it into a 6x6 inch card. I love how the front of the card has the special feature of opening to reveal a secret pocket that can be used to put some birthday money or a personal note inside. I have finished the card off with some Linen Thread, Vintage Brads and some lovely Crumb Cake Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Products used on this card:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso
DSP: Timeless Elegance
Stamp Set: One Big Meaning
Stampin' Ink Pads: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso
Punches: Oval - 1-3/4" x 7/8" and Oval - 2" x 1-3/8"
Embossing Folder: Fluttering
Ribbon: Crumb Cake Stitched Satin Ribbon-3/8"

TIP USING THE SPIRAL FLOWER DIE: I needed small flowers that would fit on my card without having to make a  box to put the card in, once I cut out the die I then cut off all the scalloped edge with with some scissors, spritzed my die cut with water then continued to roll my flower die as normal - it's great when you want a smaller flower.
