Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop

I just can't believe we are on the Eve of Christmas Day already, where has the year gone. It has been such a whirl wind of a year for me and I just love being part of this wonderful Stampin' Up! Team. Here we are at our December blog hop and just what I love "Bring On The Bling" Yahhhhh!! It was a challenge with the taking of photo's for this project, I think I ended up with more Dazzling Diamonds on me than this lovely evening bag that any little girl would love.

I used the beautiful "Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper" and colored the roses with the Real Red Stampin Marker, stamped all the paper with a versamark ink pad then coated it with Heat and Stick - heat dried to set then a coat of dazzling diamonds. Just love it.

My "Timeless Elegance" Evening Bag

Products used to make this evening bag:
Cardstock: Basic Black
DSP: Timeless Elegance
Stamp Pad: Versamark Ink
Stampin Write Marker: Real Red
Ribbon: Basic Black Stitched Satin 3/8"
Lace: Sahara Sand
Gold Cord
Heat and Stick Powder
Dazzling Diamonds
Tear and Tape
Scoring Board
Heat Tool

Instruction to make this evening bag:
  1. Score a 12 x 12 inch piece of Basic Black Cardstock at 1/2", 5", 7" and 11.5" then turn the piece of cardstock 90 degrees on your scoring board and score at 2.5" and 9.5".
  2. Patterned Paper for the outside of your bag, this will determine the style of your bag, you will need two pieces of Designer Series Paper that both measure 4-3/8"x6-7/8".
  3. You may like to make a closure flap for your card, I decided to make pin holes on mine and thread some Gold cord but if you would like to make a flap you will need a piece of cardstock that measures 5.5" x 2.5" and score it at 2-5/8" and at 3-1/8". You can make a hole on the side that will need to close, you may like to use  a designer button to fit through a slot in your piece of cardstock - you could punch a window with the washi label punch - this would enable you to slot a button on the bag that the slot opening could easily be opened and closed by the button.
  4. Once you have scored all your lines fold on all scored lines.
  5. Glue patterened designer series paper onto bag taking into account how you glue the paper on the bag, how it will appear when bag is standing upright.
  6. Using mini brads and ribbon to make handles for bag, make sure you insert them before you glue flaps down.
  7. Glue both half inch scored areas down so it leaves a neat line over your designer series paper.
  8. Using tear and tape glue your bag together.
  9. Make your flap so your bag has a closure.

Masking and Sponging Stepping Up Your Card

I needed to get some male cards done so have started off with the Traveller stamp set, I have used a sponging and masking technique and some fussy cutting to step up the card a little. You can find the tutorial to this at the top of my blog under the Utube Tutorial tab named
"Reverse Masking Technique".

Masking and Sponging Lovely As A Tree

I just love this stamp set so much, I just hope it never retires. I have tried one of my favourite technique's - Sponging with some Masking and just love the result. I have  made two cards, the first one is a very basic style then I have stepped it up a bit with the second card by using some layers of torn cardstock, crochet trim, buttons and some twine.

"Just Keep On Creating" Blog Challenge!

My Second Card - stepping it up with adding some layers.

Products used in these cards:
Cardstock: Mossy Meadow, Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Lovely As A Tree, Feel Goods
Stamp Pads: Chocolate Chip,Mossy Meadow, Marina Mist, Always Artichoke
Trim: Venetian Crochet, Linen Thread
Buttons: Designer Very Vintage
Glue Dots, Snail Permanent Adhesive
Daubers, Sponges
Bone Folder
Stampin Trimmer

Tip: For my template I just cut a piece of paper the same size as my white card front and randomly made a cut in a rectangular shape, then tore out carefully that centre of the piece of cardstock - this then became my template. Using sponges I sponged on 3 levels, my darkest color in the centre, blue at top for sky and a lighter color at the bottom then removed the template and stamped my images onto the card front.

Global Design Project #GDP015 Theme Challenge

I was asked by my lovely husband if I could make a baby card for one of his work colleagues as they are the proud parents of a new born baby boy! I thought this would be a great card for the theme "Let's Celebrate" over at Global Design Challenge as what is nicer than to celebrate the birth of a baby. I wanted to do something special so had come across a similar pram card while looking at tutorials and thought I would give one of these pram cards a go - I was very pleased how it came out and would love to make some more. They would be great to sell at a market in color theme's or as a invite to a baby shower.

 lets celebrate

Products made to make this card:
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Shimmery White
DSP: Subtles 12 x 12 Paper Stack
Stamp Set: Petite Pairs
Framelits: Circles Collection
Punches: 1" Circle, 3/4" Circle, Washi Label
Stamp Pad: Marina Mist
Ribbon: Whisper White Organza 5/8"
Enamel Dots: Home for Christmas
Bone Folder
Tear and Tape
Multi Purpose Liquid Glue
Glue Dots
Big Shot

  1. Cut your cardstock for the base card - 11" x 5.5" and score at 5.5".
  2. Cut base using large scalloped circle from the Circle Collection ( when placing it through the Bigshot overlap the top of the die so this will form a hinge)
  3. With a ruler find the centre of your card and draw the top right quarter (this is going to be cut away to form the pram) Cut the top quarter out of the card. Refer to my card.
  4. Cut a corresponding piece of DSP that measures 12" x 2-3/8", using a decorative border punch of your choice punch down one side then score every 1/2".
  5. You will only need about 3/4 of this strip to make the decorative top of your pram. To see how much you will need using your bone folder make sure you crease each mountain fold very well. Then place the first end at the cut away edge, holding it tightly in place pull the folded piece around and cut off where you are happy your flat edge will be glued.
  6. Then using your tear and tape apply it to where the pram top will be glued making sure you put enough down in that area so when you place your pram top the mountain folds will catch the glue and this will enable no movement once you remove your hand. Press down to ensure it is well adhered.
  7. Cut a white piece of cardstock and punch one side with your decorative border punch, adhere this to your card referring to my picture.
  8. Make a bow and adhere it with glue dots to the corner section of the pram top, this will help hide any uneven edges or spaces.
  9. Cut out your wheels using the circle punches and glue the 3/4" pieces to the 1" pieces, you can add pearls, rhinestones etc.. to the centre of the wheels if desired. You will find once you have added your wheels the card will stand very nicely.
  10. I also cut a piece out for the inside of the card using the corresponding DSP and added a sentiment on the front of my card.
  11. TIP: When gluing your wheels on the card firstly glue your wheels on the front of the card, turn the card over then it will be a lot easier to see where you need to glue them on the back of your card and make sure you only put a piece of sticky strip at the top of the wheel.
  12. Do any final embellishing - your card is completed.

Easy Fun Fold

This is a great quick fun fold card, when you need to get a quick card done or you are running out of time with your Christmas cards you could make a few of these up really quickly. A great style for a invite or thank you card when you are needing to do a great deal of cards in one go. You could make these in stages and get them done very quickly.

I would like to enter these Fun Fold Cards into
Just Keep On Creating a great new challenge site that is really growing, you can enter as many entries as you like and what ever you create is more than welcome to be entered.

Cardstock: Shimmery White, Cherry Cobbler
DSP: Winter Wonderland Specialty Paper
Stamp Set: Cozy Christmas
Stamp Pad: Cherry Cobbler
Embossing Folder: Elegant Dots
Punches: 2-1/2" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle, 1-3/8" Circle, 2-3/8" Scallop, 1-3/4" Scallop
Winter Wonderland
Snowflake Elements
Metallic Sequins
Bone Folder
Snail Adhesive Glue Runner
Simply Scored
Stampin Trimmer
Big Shot

  • Base Card is a piece of cardstock measureing 11 inches x 4.25 inches, scored at 4.25" and at 8.5 inches.

  • Using your 2-1/2" circle punch, punch a circle on the 8.5" scoring line at the short end of the card ensure the line is in centre of punched circle.

  • Use your bone folder to crease all creases firmly.

  • Apply your DSP paper on the front of the large piece - your DSP should measure 4 inches x 4 inches, I have also put it on the inside.

  • To lign up your DSP paper on the inside hold it as straight as you can and using the same circle punch looking from the wrong side punch a circle. Then you should be able to stick this piece of DSP paper down inside so the card has a finished look - refer to my pictures of my card on my blog.

  • Using the largest scallop punch cut out a coordinating scallop and glue down so when the card is close you can see the whole scallop piece, ensure you only apply glue to the bottom of the scallop. Then cut out a smaller scallop and apply to the larger scallop on your card.

  • I have added some embellishments, snowflake elements and some winter wonderland embellishments.

  • Note: You will need to make a closure using your punches as shown on the front of my card, make sure you only apply glue to the bottom of the larger scallop or circle so you can slip the card underneath it to have a closed card. I hope you enjoy making these cards as much as I have - they are a very easy card to make.
