I have created the background of my card using the Smoosh Technique. I have used the Best Plaid Builder Dies, Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set which I coloured my images with the Stampin Blends and also I have used the Stitched Rectangles Framelits. This is how I did the Smoosh Technique on my card:
  1. Using my Ink Pads I have wiped them across my non stick mat and spritzed the colours with water.
  2. Then I took my piece of water colour paper and wiped it over the colours.
  3. I redid this several times until I got the look I was happy with.
  4. Remember to spritz with water everytime you add more ink or if you want it to be lighter, just continue these steps.
  5. Let the piece of water colour paper completely dry.
  6. I always use a piece of watercolour paper bigger than I need for my card then you can cut it down to get the best piece and trim off any edges that weren't inked.

Loyal Leaves Smoosh Technique

Join in Our Challenge

Each fortnight we have a challenge over at Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up, we would love you to VISIT US on our facebook group and join in our challenge. We have a new challenge each fortnight and this fortnight's challenge is the Smoosh Technique. I'm going to give you the steps to how I created my card using the Loyal Leaves Stamp Set and the Best Plaid Builder Dies. I have also used the Stitched Shaped Framelits. This Smoosh Technique was new to me although it has been around for quite awhile, I certainly got ink everywhere. Here are the steps I did to create my Smoosh Technique.
  1. I started off with a two pieces of water coloring paper, a lot bigger than I needed as I wanted to be able to cut some off the edges if I needed to.
  2. Using my sponge tool I chose 3 colours and went to sponging one piece of the water colour paper so all 3 colours were blended into each other.
  3. I then spritzed a few sprays of water onto all the colours.
  4. I previously cut out my leaves, I placed these face down onto the spritzed area.
  5. Cover it with another piece of watercolour paper and put the whole thing through my Die Cutting Machine as if I was die cutting a die.
  6. This makes the ink transfer to the leaves and also gives me another piece which is my background.
  7. If you want you can spritz it again and place some more images down and run it through your Die Cutting Machine.
  8. I then let it dry overnight.
  9. I cut the piece of watercolour paper that was going to be my background, embossed it and cut it down to fit my card.
  10. The leaves came out exactly how you see them on my card.

Poinsettia Petals Clipboard & Matching Notebook

I have started making my Christmas Gifts, I have created this Altered Clipboard and made a Matching Notepad using the Poinsettia Petals Bundle and the Best Year Stamp Set for the sentiment. To create the 3D  Poinsettia flower I stamped and embossed the Poinsettia image in Gold Embossing Powder and then sponged them with my Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad and a Sponge Dauber before die cutting it out. I then layered all the petals with adhesive foam and put one of the new embellishments in the center of the flower, I also used my glue gun to adhere this to the clipboard.  I also covered the notepad with the matching Stampin Up Designer Series Paper and added the Christmas Sentiment to the note pad.
